Rope has a multitude of uses across all Industries, hobbies and interests. Splicing and knot tying is a very useful knowledge and below is a basic guide to different types of Splice.
	Tools Required for all splices . . . . . Rope. Chain. Swedish fid. Hollow Splicing Fids. Sail maker's Needles. Sharp knife. 2 x Electrical Tape (different colours). Coloured pens. Waxed or polyester thread. Super glue. Rope Tidy. Heat Gun.
	Soft Eye Splice in 3 Stranded Rope . . . . . Multitude of uses on and off the water one example being for connecting a Lanyard (rope) to a fender.
	Polyester Braid on Braid Splice . . . . . This splice is one of the easiest ways to splice Polyester Braid on Braid. The advantage of this splice is that it only reduces a ropes breaking strain by approximately 10%, whereas a bowline can reduce the breaking strain by up to half!. The disadvantage is the increased diameter extending from the eye which could jam in a sheave/block. Please Note: This Splice should not be used on materials such as Dyneema.
	3 Strand to Chain Splice . . . . . This splice is one of the ways to splice 3 stranded rope onto a length of chain. Most popular application being to attach your anchor warp (rope) to your anchor or chain.
	8 Strand (Multi-plait) to Chain Splice . . . . . . This splice looks complicated, but once you've got the pattern going it is quite easy. Again its most popular application being to attach your multi plait anchor warp (rope) to your anchor or chain.
